My Daily Readings July 16 2010
RIDER WAITE DECK
General Reading-There maybe some people who don't really take what I do seriously. They don't understand why and what I actually do (as being a tarot reader). This card tells me to be ready for some criticism because of it.
In Romance-Me and my DH have certain issues and beliefs we don't agree on in our relationship. We both maybe try to change each other to think the way we want.
This card is telling me to back off a little and give myself space and the whole issues will blow over.
In Health-This card shows that I'm really tired and burned out by the long hours in the day, way to much work I do and no time to enjoy my days if that my life. This card is telling me I need to take some time for myself and do what I enjoy, I will return more happy and refreshed with new flowing of energy in my daily dealings.
In Spiritual-I must admin I need to take care of a larger issue in my life. I need to set more goals for spiritual self. Take Classes (I am) do something to get and keep on track.
In Mind-I'm a powerful thinking-er with a questionable curious mind I have keen insight into the human condition.
This card is showing some fustraction in some people and situations maybe false accusations and unfairness was caused and it shows intolerance for them.
This card also shows that I am change because of this (for what suits me)
At this time I'm friendly and caring and love helping others. Im Honest and Loyal to my friends.
General Readings-My life is happy and fulfilled.
The card shows that I'm a nurturer, like a person who finds lost animals and takes them in to take care of them, or the person whose there for her friends or other people she doesn't know.
I'm a good listener and very open to people and their problems and the cards say I made good counselor as well.
In Romance-The cards say do not over baby DH (LOL) he doesn't need to much nurturing use it on people who would appreciate it more (aint that the truth LOL)
In Health-Try doing something in the garden or spend time playing with my children this will give me great emotional satisfaction or take a trip to the beach too. Also take some time out for myself too.
OSHO ZEN DECK
The message in this card is telling me I must find a healing outlet for anything that is causing me issues. Its very important that I find ways to release whatever stress/tensions I have building up inside of me. Dont wait till things build up and I blow my top. Release them now.
This card also tells that there something I want to do but I cant do to social conditions and etc. Maybe the ways of my thinking of belief its hard sometimes for me to break free of the "old ways" of thinking or how civilization believes and what they think, I think it affects me at some point, not really wanting to stick out like a sore thumb but to fit in, but yet I am different.
This card is telling me this is really bad and if not dangerous to think like this. Maybe sometimes these issues come like a bomb and I go all crazy.
The cards say that craziness is only a "suppression coming to a point where you cannot control them anymore,......" but also says the way to see thru it is thru meditation.
This card tells that whatever I am learning in my life or have learned to use it in my life. Use my Past life experience to help me make decisions in my today choices too.
Try to also express myself
I carry something inside me that will mold me into the person I am and should be but i tend to stop myself (standing in my own way) this card is telling me to move aside and then the answer will be revealed. Osho Says that "Everyone has this masterpiece, because God never gives birth to anything less then that. Everyone carries that master piece hidden for many life's, not knowing who they are, and just trying on the surface to become someone. Drop the idea of being someone. because you already are a masterpiece. You cannot be improved. You have only come to it, to know it, to realize it. God has himself created you, you cannot be improved" I love that paragraph from Osho.
This card is telling me I "have a opportunity with others now to make (my) contribution to creating something greater and more beautiful than each of (I) could manage alone" not only will I be nourished by it we will also help something precious all together.
This card also asks have you ever seen things while others don't? Things that happened everyday around you, you notice, others don't and go on with their lives? So many people do not even take the time to even notice things. Also are also seen as blind people, This world is so beautiful we don't even know how beautiful it really is and we dwell in our own little world of misery. There are times when instinctively they want to pull out of the little miserable world we think we are in and struggle daily. Then it comes down to where you don't want to leave your little miserable world and all the suffering you are enduring.. Without this you will see no joy around you. you just have to be aware of it. So Stop dwelling on the misery and problems of the world and open your eyes to the positive brighter beautiful world that it really is. Your not stuck you just need to find that extra lift to help you out to see it.
ANGEL CARD
Retreat
"Spend some time alone in a quiet thought.Clear your mind, and focus on your truth and priorities"
This card is asking if im maybe pushing myself a little to hard, its telling me to relax and take some time for myself to ease my mind and body. Also it would like for me to reflect on whats really inside of me (my heart/feelings/desires). It says "You will know that it is true Divine guidance, and not just trust your imagination or wishful thinking if its speaks of your desire to make a difference in the World."

Face Suit Cards
Face cards
Whereas modern playing cards have three face (or ‘court’) cards (jack, queen and king), tarot cards have four (page, knight, queen and king). The jack in a modern playing card deck is an amalgamation of the page and the knight. Each of the four face cards has a different symbolic meaning. Pages are associated with insight and opportunity, knights with challenge and determination, queens with nurturing and advice, and kings with ambition and power. The face cards in each suit have their own particular character traits too:
Swords
Page: clever, perceptive, creative and physically fit, but restless by nature
Knight : a highly active person who’s always on the go but is easily bored and frequently changes his plans
Queen: this fast-thinking queen possesses acerbic wit, and although she appears distant and frosty, she may be lonely at heart
King: moralistic and righteous, this man stands up for his beliefs and always acts in a professional manner
Chalices
Page: someone who always has his head in the clouds, dreaming and fantasising, and sensitive by nature
Knight: passionate, romantic, faithful and caring, this king has a lot of love to give but is often overwhelmed by emotion
Queen: a real mother hen, this queen likes to look after her brood, with comforting advice and reassuring insight
King: warm-hearted and kind, this father-figure loves children and gives sound and helpful advice
Pentacles
Page: very practical with his hands, this page is good at making and mending things and is fascinated by how things work, with a real thirst for learning and knowledge
Knight: a hard-working, determined young man with a great future ahead of him and the ability to succeed
Queen: a shrewd businesswoman who knows how to manage money but always acts with generosity, kindness and integrity
King: the epitome of common sense and maturity, this king has a good head for business and finance and knows how to look after his affairs
Wands
Page: full of the joys of life, this bright and cheery character likes to keep himself occupied and enjoys the company of others
Knight: a wanderer who loves to move around and discover new places, often acting purely on impulse and therefore sometimes unreliable
Queen: elegant and sophisticated yet kind and down-to-earth, this queen represents harmony and equilibrium
King: a born leader with the ability to inspire others, this king commands a great deal of respect from everyone around him

Harsh Truths Spread- 1:41 by Luminessence
Harsh Truths Spread
I developed this spread as a way to get clear and objective information about situations, to keep the cards from simply telling me what I want to hear, and to clearly differentiate hopes, fears, and the truth. I gave myself a reading with it, and I found it very useful. It revealed a couple of attitudes I held that I wasn't consciously aware of before then. The reading I got with the spread seemed straight out of left field at first - I got the Star in position 2, the Ace of Cups in position 5, and the 10 of Swords in position 4 - but after thinking about the cards some more, I found that it all fit.
Harsh Truths Spread
1. What you want to see/believe

3. What is true
4. What you want to happen
5. What you don't want to happen
6. What will happen

If the spread shows an outcome that you don't like, or an attitude that you'd like to change, you can draw an additional card asking how you can change that attitude or outcome. You can do this for as many positions in the spread as you'd like.

Tarot Counting Tecnique
Tar
Tarot Counting Technique explained
Counting makes Elemental Dignities come alive. Each Triplet is linked or threaded together, and the Tarot Reader creates a "story". Sometimes the thread is very straightforward, but other times the thread can become convoluted as it moves back and forward. The nature of the threading can be an indication of the complexity of a situation. The Tarot Reader is advised to silently "follow through" the length of the thread before starting to speak to the Querent. The aim of Sequential Spreads is to create a story that can be either in the past, the present, or the future according to circumstances. Working within this system is fascinating, sophisticated, and a revelation not only to the Reader but to the Querent. In some cases it is as if the Reader was reading from a book or commenting on a scene from life. There are many advantages to Elemental Dignities, most of which do not come apparent until one works with them in a reading. For example, using Elemental Dignities and the GD spread offers the Reader a multitude of choices of where to begin in a reading. Court cards, never easy to read, are seen in their context and relationship between each other and the other cards - it is easy to see which Court card is doing what to another Court card, and how the Court cards (and therefore people in the Querent's life) respond to situations or trample over everyone.
By its nature, the Counting Technique is selective. Vital information can be gleaned by those cards that are missed. For example, a perennial question in Tarot Readings is "will this person come into my life?". Once the Reader has located the Significator for the Reader, and the pile of cards is spread out, it is apparent that there is only one other Court Card of the right gender and age group. Counting starts, and surprise, surprise, the target card is missed. Counting from the other Court Card, the Significator is hit. Interpretation? The Querent need do nothing special - that special person will turn up, and we can even suggest the manner of the event according to Elemental Dignities. Alternatively, neither card links up, which suggests that the desired event will not happen. Does the intrepid Elemental Dignity Reader give up? No. Plan B comes into play, and the Reader searches for a card in the spread that will connect with both Significators, suggesting a different course of action to achieve the desired result. Obviously, this is not always possible nor desirable. Another scenario is where there is a choice of suitor, so the possibilities surrounding each other can be explored.
The pattern of the counting is suggestive. The Reader may find the counting goes round in circles, which is exactly the experience the Querent has been going through. Since we are dealing with the energy flows within a reading, we can also see the Sphere of Influence of a card: by definition, any card will influence the cards either side, and the cards that are hit by the counting technique. Each card is influenced by the cards at intervals 4, 5, 7, 9, and 12 either side of it, depending of course on the type. It is entirely possible that a card has no influence upon it, which is analogous to a singleton in Astrology which acts in a rogue manner. Sometimes in even a long sequence of cards, only a few cards are significant. Sometimes the Count meanders along, changing direction at random. My experience is that the fewer the moves, the more direct, the more likely something is to happen; conversely, a long sequence indicates many things that can go wrong. Sometimes the sequence goes through many Court cards, showing that events are in the hands of others, not a good sign. We may also find "pockets" of cards that do not appear to be part of the situation - sometimes there are two or more 'pockets' indicating areas of the Querent's life that is off-limits, or unknown at the present, that need to be investigated, or that the Querent is not addressing more important concerns. Looking at the elemental aspects, we may find that one or two elements dominate, or that the Count oscillates between opposing or enemy elements, showing a stop-start pattern, lack of confidence, confusion, or lack of direction.
Card Counting Technique
Card Counting is a technique that is fundamental to the GD Spread. Card Counting enables the Reader to create a 'story', a situation that develops over a period of time. Card Counting enables the Reader to select the next card in a formulaic sequence. It is a fascinating process that reveals layer after layer of subtlety.- 5 or 11
- Aces
- 7
- Princess or Knave
- 4
- Knight or Queen
- Face Value
- Minor cards 2-10
- 3
- Fool, Hanged Man, Aeon
- 9
- Planetary Major Cards
- 12
- Zodiacal Major Cards
There is another alternative method of counting in the Book of Thoth where the Aces count 11 rather than 5. Eleven is a significant number in that system, and it is very dynamic - the number of change and magic. Since I have a synthetic approach to techniques, I usually count five, but if a situation appears "locked", I will resort to using eleven. Be warned, this is very powerful, and can result in life changing experiences for the Querent; this may be exactly what the Querent wants. Since choice is a vital aspect to readings, and gently steers the Querent away from a fatalistic point of view, the Reader may find it worthwhile offering alternative actions and their outcomes.
Facing and Direction of the Court Cards
A peculiarity of the Court cards is the direction the counting starts with. The original instructions state that the direction to count depends on which way the face of the figure is facing. A moment's thought should make one realise how inadequate this advice is - it depends on the Tarot Deck used. A far more practical method is to look at where the Court Cards are placed upon the Tree of Life. The Queen resides in Binah on the left, while the Kings are placed upon Chokmah on the right. Between them is the centre column of balance. Therefore, the Queens and Princess should move to the right, while the Kings and Knights should move to the left. The Golden Dawn Spread allows reversed cards, so the direction would change if a court card is reversed. The Court cards control the direction counting takes place, and if several Court cards are 'hit' in the process, the direction may change several times. Card counting finishes when a card is 'hit' twice.
What happens when a card is hit twice but from the opposite direction? In my experience I have found it is better to continue counting until a card is hit from the same direction.

The Deacon of the Minor Arcana
The Deacons of the Minor Arcana
Deacons, or decantes are the planetary associations that are used in astrology to denote the 30-degree period within each astrological house. They are used within tarot to associate planetary aspects to all 40 of the minor arcana cards. Each card is assigned to a decante, representing a 360 degree circle, divided by 12 which gives us the decantes. Each decante represents a 10 degree planetary association. The 4 aces of the minor arcana are given planetary associations. These Deacons are according to the Hermetic Golden Dawn. I am looking forward to comparing other systems of tarot and their deacons as well, as they may not all be the same for each deck.Ace of Wands - Fire of Fire
